South Border is a cultural production developed by Diálogos Sem Fronteiras (DSF), promoted by the University of Algarve (UAlg) and produced by SPI, structured under Portugal's government-certified ARI Cultural framework.

A Government-Certified Route Under Portugal's ARI Framework
The ARI Cultural route is a government-certified mechanism, approved by GEPAC (the Portuguese Ministry of Culture's cultural assessment body), that allows eligible cultural projects to receive qualifying contributions from international applicants in exchange for Portuguese residency eligibility.
A cultural contribution under this framework is not a financial investment: contributors do not receive equity, dividends, or a financial return. In exchange, eligible applicants may apply for Portuguese residency, subject to approval by AIMA and the competent Portuguese authorities. A contribution does not, by itself, guarantee that a residency application will be approved.

Your Pathway to Portuguese Residency
GEPAC Project Certification
South Border already holds GEPAC's approval as an eligible ARI Cultural project.
Contribution & Agreement
Transfer the €200,000 qualifying contribution directly to the University of Algarve (UAlg), under a signed contribution agreement and following the required compliance procedures.
Acknowledgment of Receipt
UAlg and the receiving bank each confirm receipt of the funds.
Submission to GEPAC
UAlg forwards both acknowledgments to GEPAC, requesting recognition of the contribution for ARI Cultural purposes.
GEPAC Statement
GEPAC issues an official statement confirming the qualifying contribution.
AIMA Residency Filing
Submit GEPAC's statement, together with a criminal record certificate, as part of your ARI residency application for yourself and qualifying family members.
